Personally, I find the idea of "radical Islam" (however defined) being a threat to the West as somewhat silly. For one thing, the First Amendment guarantees Americans the right to be radical Muslims just as much as it does their rights to be fundamentalist Christians or Orthodox Jews. And then, if Islam in whatever form is truly a threat to us, shouldn't we be sending missionaries rather than soldiers?
