The icons are painted by a priest, TEGEGNE-WUNETU, at a monastery, Uhra Kidane Mehret, located on a peninsula in Lake Tana (where the Blue Nile originates) in northern Ethiopia. They are painted with natural colours on prepared goatskin, where part of the hairs is kept on the back. The seize is almost about 21x18 cm, the smaler about. 15 x 13 cm. Both colours and details in this picture vary, because it is made after the old custom.
