C'est un fait divers d'une horreur indicible qui s'est produit aux Etats-Unis. Dans une petite maison texane, une mère a commis l'inimaginable.
Guidée, a-t-elle expliqué ensuite, par des voix, elle s'est munie d'un couteau et à décapité son nouveau-né.
Elle a ensuite ingéré des parties de l'enfant, puis a tenté de se suicider.
La police a fait la macabre découverte, touvant là la mère infanticide couverte de sang, portant encore la chair de sa chair dans ses bras, et hurlant :
"Je veux mourir, j'ai tué mon bébé !"

Otty Sanchez, une texane de 33 ans, a décapité son bébé agé de trois semaines avant d'en dévorer plusieurs morceaux, dont son cerveau et trois de ses doigts.
Elle a justifié son geste en indiquant que s'était Satan lui-même qui lui avait demandé.
Les agents de police de la ville de San Antonio (Texas) sont arrivés à la maison d'Otty dimanche vers 5h du matin. Ils découvrirent la mère, prostrée sur le canapé criant qu'elle avait tué son bébé, Scott Wesley Buchholtz-Sanchez.
C'est dans une des chambres que la police aurait découvert le nourrisson de trois semaines et demi, poignardé et décapité.
La mère était également blessée, s'étant infligée plusieurs coups de couteau au ventre et à la gorge après son acte de folie : elle aurait en effet expliqué aux policiers que quelque chose lui avait demandé d'agir ainsi.
William McManus, chef de la police de San Antonio, a déclaré que la mère avait vraisemblablement mangé des morceaux de cervelle appartenant à son fils, et s'était adonnée à d'autres actions ignobles qu'il ne pouvait décrire.
Cette histoire intervient après que le père ait quitté Otty, qui s'était alors réfugié chez sa mère.
Elle vivait avec sa sœur et ses deux filles de 5 et 7 ans.
Ces dernières étaient présentes au moment du meurtre, et c'est la sœur de d'Otty qui a appelé la police après avoir découvert le corps du bébé.
La tante de Sanchez a confié que sa nièce avait fait des aller-retour en hôpital psychiatrique, puis continue :
"Elle n'avait pas l'intention de faire ça, elle n'était pas dans son état normal".
La mère, encore hospitalisée, encourt la peine de mort et pourra être libérée contre une caution d'un montant d'un million de dollars.

San Antonio police investigate a home where a 3 1/2-week-old baby boy was stabbed in the upper body and decapitated in San Antonio, early Sunday, July 26, 2009, according to police.
A police spokesman said the baby's mother, Otty Sanchez, 33, was detained and taken to University Hospital.
On Sunday, police found an infant male stabbed and decapitated in a San Antonio, Texas home. His mother, Otty Sanchez, 33, was screaming the devil told her to do it.
Police arrived at the home at about 5 a.m. on Sunday and found Sanchez sitting on the couch and screaming that she killed her baby.
The baby, Scott Wesley Buchholtz-Sanchez, was only 3 ½ weeks old and was found mutilated in a bedroom. Police believe he died on Sunday morning.
San Antonio police spokesperson Joe Rios said,
“She mentioned that someone or something told her to do it—she was hearing voices.
So that leads us to believe that she was experiencing some type of mental crisis. The baby had obviously been decapitated.”
San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said Sanchez ate part of the baby’s brain, and performed other heinous acts he could not describe.
Sanchez was taken to a local hospital in critical condition with self-inflicted stab wounds to her stomach and chest.
A machete, sword, and kitchen knife were removed from the home by investigators.
The attack occurred after the baby’s father had moved out.
Sanchez’s sister and her sister’s two children were in the house at the time the baby was killed. She had helped Sanchez care for the baby, and gave him to Sanchez at about 1:30 a.m.
The sister called police after finding the baby's body.
Sanchez is charged with capital murder and is being held on $1 million bail.
